SLEEP

Down The Hatch
Posted on: 2026 april 20

Out of the ordinary

This weekend we played *Sleep*, the new room by Down the Hatch in Voorburg. The opening story is quickly told: we are asked to investigate the disappearance of 5 teenagers who were involved in a car accident. The room offers some tension, also the presence of an actor, but it is not a horror room. So far, so good.

It is our 265th room, and we went in as a team of 3.
Honestly, we didn’t really know what to expect — but we came with excitement and the hope, that it will be an extraordinary experience again. But … how do you top a room like “Molly’s Game”? That question must have crossed the creator’s mind as well, and maybe that’s why he chose to take a different path.

But - before I go into details a well meant advice: leave your expectations and comparisons behind, leave Molly behind — and allow yourself to step into something completely new.

From the very beginning, the room draws you in with a subtle tension and a slightly dark atmosphere. The game starts immediately. The use of darkness and light is so well crafted that you immediately transform into a part of the story. And very early on, it becomes clear: this room doesn’t just give — it also asks something of you.

Right from the first puzzles, you can tell that a lot of thought went into their design — not just aesthetically, but in how they work. And to our great satisfaction, it stays like that.

The space feels large, yet never cold or distant. Every design element is executed at a very high level carrying the signature and mastery of the creator. Smaller areas alternate with larger ones, and the deeper you go, the more the story unfolds — dark at times, but also emotionally touching, building towards an intense, powerful and emotional finale.

You have three hours to move through this immersive experience, and we were genuinely glad we took the time to enjoy every moment to the fullest. This is not a room you should treat as just one in the row of many. Of course, you can — but believe me you would miss the best part and exactly what makes it special. A truly spectacular experience needs time to fully unfold.

What Loran has achieved here is the combination of a highly immersive experience with challenging, original, and varied puzzles. Not either/or what we often see — but BOTH at the SAME TIME. It has its challenges. And honestly, we did have to work for it at times. But never in a frustrating way. Always in a way that felt logical and well placed, leading to those great satisfying moments of progress.
(So everyone who just likes to press some buttons or easy riddles that meet you half way, might experience some frustration at times.) But if you like puzzles, boy... you will have a great time!

The use of the actors is subtle and purposeful, supporting the story without overwhelming it. And when it comes to the set design — there’s not much to add.

Loran is an expert in many ways, clearly mastering his craft to an impressingly high level of perfection. You see it, you feel it, you smell it in every detail. And in the reflection afterwards: in how perfectly story, flow, set, sound, lighting, and acting come together as one cohesive whole.

For me, this is truly a masterpiece — one that leaves a mark in many and the best possible ways. Especially players with some experience and those who appreciate both the immersive any highly personal character of the game and the puzzles, will find something very special here.

After three hours that passed far too quickly, the experience came to an end and we left after an inspiring and very pleasant chat with Loran and his team. For us this experience as a whole was truly special and we are more than grateful for the great time we had. Thank you, Loran!

Exorcista

Terror Stories
Posted on: 2026 february 22

Exorcista: A Shockingly Brilliant Adventure

The final room of our Barcelona trip takes us to the horror experience *Exorcista*. Terror Stories is said to have created a true masterpiece with this one - we’re very curious to see what awaits us.

We drive there, find a parking garage nearby — everything easy — and soon we’re standing in front of the location. And as is often the case in Barcelona, things get started right away and we begin the game.

Out of the two available game intensity levels, we chose the Terror Mode (knowing that there would be no physical contact and that we would “only” be facing 'psychological terror').

And yes - what everyone says is true: The room is extremely intense, immersive, and truly gets under your skin. During the first 10 minutes we were still thinking, “Hey — is that all?” But then our hosts step in and the show begins.

And it REALLY begins.

The best part is that, instead of relying on cheap jump scares in the dark, a story unfolds in front of us that completely captivates us. And this is mainly due to the spectacular performance of the actors. They managed to make us feel utterly fascinated and full of adrenaline all at the same time — feeling like we wanted to hide, while at the same time not wanting to miss a single second.

It was simply incredible.

The actors are perfectly in sync with each other, the room, the lighting, the music, and the story that everything flows seamlessly. The puzzles fit the theme, the decor is nice, the guidance is always attentive, and the entire experience is at a level that is simply W-O-W.

Being totally honest: at the beginning we weren’t sure whether we would enjoy the room or if it might be too intense. And yes — it *is* intense, really intense. BUT it’s totally worth it, and we’re so glad that we dared to do it.

This room will stay in my Top 10 for quite a while I guess. :)

To finish things off: 90 minutes flew by way too quickly. Afterwards we had a really lovely chat with the GMs. We felt comfortable and well taken care of from the very beginning till the end. Mija and Itzel — you’re AMAZING!!

Thank you for this unique, adrenaline-filled, exciting, shocking, touching, and at the same time amazing and brilliant experience.

Has seen better times

This room came on day 3 of our trip. With K.O.N.G and Cybercity from this company, we figured… why not throw in another tomb? ?

The beginning was not very special. We were led through a dark hallway by someone who started out whispering dramatically… and then suddenly got a bit too loud. Then we had to close our eyes, got guided into the room — and chained up quite firmly. Okayyy. Could still turn into something cool, right?

First impression? Not bad, actually. The lighting and decor were decent, nice moody vibe. But then — first broken mechanism. And sadly… that pretty much set the tone for the whole experience.

Even though it’s nice and dark in there, you can clearly see the room is seriously worn down. It feels like nobody’s shown it any love or budget in a long time. The puzzles were probably good once upon a time — but in this condition? Not so much.

And then there’s the huge amount of dirt. Look, sand and dust in a tomb? Totally fine. Expected, even. But this level of dust was… a lot. Like, *a lot*. For us this really killed a part of the fun. The only room that beat it was one in Montpellier — where we were greeted by actual living cockroaches.

Somehow we finished the game and, as a cherry on the cake, got properly griped by the GM for our bad listening skills and the way we approached the last puzzle. Yeah, I would have loved to be more positive but honestly — we were just happy to be out of that tomb and back in fresh air.

Londium

Londium Escape Room
Posted on: 2025 december 4

Londium — Yep, It’s Really That Good

This room is something truly special. It had only been open for a few weeks, and we were super lucky to grab a last-minute spot during our Barcelona escape trip. What made us even more curious was that, during the debriefs of the rooms we had played earlier, several GMs and owners independently told us the same thing: “You have to play Londium. It’s incredible.” People in the local community seem genuinely obsessed with it — while other rooms, including TERPECA winners like K.O.N.G. Protocol, were mentioned with much more mixed opinions.

So, with expectations already sky-high, we walked in… and wow. We were absolutely not disappointed.

Londium delivers on every single level. It sets a new benchmark for immersion, storytelling, and atmosphere. From the moment you enter the game, the goosebump moments just keep coming. The set design is jaw-dropping — one of those builds where you instantly notice that every corner, every transition, every detail has been created with intention, love, and insane craftsmanship. Nothing feels random. You keep thinking: “Seriously, they built THIS?”

The room has a subtle sense of tension, but never crosses into horror — no jump scares, no cheap tricks. And the puzzles? Nicely varied, well integrated, and just challenging enough to keep you in flow without ever pulling you out of the story.

For us, this was one of those rare experiences that stay with you. It’s actually the first room where we said afterward: “If they release that Christmas edition… we might have to come back.”

Honestly, this room alone makes the trip to Barcelona worth it. A must-play — with the side effect that your internal Top 10 might get seriously rearranged afterward.

Huge shoutout to the creators. What an achievement. We’re already excited to see what they come up with next!

Thrilling experience!

The room is truly an experience! After a very pleasant exchange with the owner during the booking process, we set off for Holland full of excitement and anticipation. Parking, a warm welcome, even a quick stop at the restroom – everything was easy and, as always, handled in a professional and friendly way.

You can immediately sense the owner’s passion and enthusiasm for his new room – no surprise, after all, it only opened two months ago following a full year of construction. After a short briefing, we stepped inside and were instantly surrounded by the dark, atmospheric setting of the game. We felt tense but never scared, and quickly got into the flow with the first puzzles, which pulled us straight into the story.

The 90 minutes flew by, and we managed to complete all tasks and puzzles with just four minutes left on the clock. And what can I say – it really caught us! The actor in this room plays a major and essential role, and he delivers a truly fantastic performance!!! Comparisons to The Taxidermist in Paris aren’t far-fetched at all – and for us, that was totally unexpected. Fresh, different, and of course, thrilling.

Were there moments when our hearts raced? Absolutely. But always in a fitting way, and never close to horror. The set design is crafted with great care and an eye for detail. The storyline is clear, emotional, and touching.

Is there any suggestion for improvement? If you want to be critical, you could say that the puzzles weren’t exceptionally innovative or complex. But did we have 90 minutes great entertainment? Without any doubt!

For us, this is a brand-new highlight in Holland and a room that truly deserves a spot in the Top 10 ranking. A must-play!

Finally

A room that had been on our list for quite a while. We already knew the location from Poppet – very spectacular and authentic! Just like last time, we were warmly welcomed and well taken care of, and the actor did a good job.

That said, the room itself is, by today’s standards, unfortunately no longer very special, and for our group of six there simply wasn’t enough to do. Still, we’re glad we finally played it.

Bon Appetit

A room we had really been looking forward to after our great experience with Poppet. The welcome from our GM was a little reserved, but still fine – we even had time for a coffee and a quick restroom stop before starting.

The room itself greets us with an unusual, creepy atmosphere. The theme is presented in an original way, and the puzzles are partly creative and fit nicely with the story. We also really enjoyed the design and decoration, and there are some neat effects along the way.

Super outstanding? No. But definitely a room worth playing if you’re in the area.

The Taxidermist

Deep Inside
Posted on: 2025 april 13
This review is more than 1 years old. The situation may have changed.

There are great escape rooms… and then there’s Deep Inside.

After the magician had already cast his spell on us last year, we were pretty sure that the brand-new room TAXIDERMISTE in the City of Martyrs would be another highlight of our escape trip to Paris. And wow—it didn’t disappoint. Quite the opposite, actually.

Once again, this provider delivered an unforgettable experience and set the bar incredibly high for everyone else. It’s a masterclass in immersive storytelling. The way architecture, set design, lighting, technology, sound and story all come together here is simply mind-blowing. In fact, I’d even say it’s an upgrade from Le Magicien.

They’re clearly not standing still—these creators know how to evolve and keep up with the times. It felt both exciting and familiar to return to the City of Martyrs and jump into a brand-new mission. A strong opening and some great acting make it easy to dive into the story. Despite the dark and mysterious atmosphere, the performance brings color and life to the experience.

And best of all? There’s no need for those long-winded intros that are so common in France—the story unfolds naturally as you go. The puzzles are creative and varied, guiding you toward a finale that is truly original.

Deep Inside has its own unique style—blending costumes, movement, lighting, and drama into something that feels alive. I don’t want to spoil anything… this is something you really need to experience for yourself, especially if you enjoy rooms that are rare gems in terms of quality and design.

This kind of room is right up our alley, and we don’t mind at all that the focus is more on interaction and experience than on brain-breaking logic puzzles. It’s just… something else. The closest comparison might be Botanist Manor in Brussels—but this one feels even more personal and engaging thanks to the level of interaction.

We were blown away—absolutely thrilled—and honestly, a little sad that this is a one-time experience.

Deep Inside, you’re doing so many things right. Fantastic rooms, and such a warm, personal approach.

Rooms like this are exactly why we love escaping so much.

On a side note: Taxidermiste is not kids-friendly. No horror but the story is quite heavy and explicit and it has some really intense moments.

Great fun

It was a great experience! From the warm welcome to the smooth start of the game, everything felt just right. The puzzles were engaging and mostly fit the theme well.

We played as a team of three, and let me tell you – we were kept very busy trying to crack everything within the time limit. This is definitely a room where you have to earn your victories, and attention to detail is key. If you need to gather a bunch of numbers, you’d better make sure they’re all correct—otherwise, you might find yourself starting over from scratch!

Luckily, our sharp-eyed gamemaster kept us on track and helped us avoid that particular pitfall. All in all, a great experience—I wouldn’t want to miss this room from my list! ??✨

From Chills to Chuckles: A Thrilling Escape Room Adventure!

An interesting experience, to say the least! Before the game even started, we were properly nervous—there are so many comments labeling this room as horror, and, well... that’s not exactly our comfort zone. But curiosity got the better of us!

The check-in process was unusual—actually, there wasn’t one. No warm welcome—just you and the other guests, left to figure things out on your own. Total self-service. But hey, at least there was plenty going on, so we weren’t just standing around. Eventually, our GM appeared and kindly escorted us to the room.

Now, about the room itself… It’s a bit of a shame, but it’s clearly seen better days. With just a little effort, it could be so much better—there’s definitely untapped potential here. The atmosphere, though, is spot-on: dark, eerie, and especially at the transition to the second room, there was serious heart-pounding tension—not because of what’s actually there, but because of what your imagination conjures up. That part? Well done!

The puzzles were creative but could use a refresh, and honestly, some of them left us completely puzzled (pun intended) as to how they fit into the story. The start of the game dragged a bit, too—unclear connections, some tricky tech issues—it took us a while to really get going.

As for the jump scares? Oh, they got us. Not terrifying, but definitely not for the faint-hearted! Thankfully, we could laugh about it afterward, which helped. We managed to escape with 2 minutes to spare and even got to watch our recording afterward, which was a fun bonus.

All in all? A unique experience. And The Dome is still on our list—so we’ll definitely be back! ???

A Well-Crafted Adventure in a Charming Setting

On this day, we had two escape rooms in this hotel on our list. After a warm welcome and a coffee, we jumped right in and set off in search of our suitcase.

The game started off strong, with a fantastic atmosphere and well-designed puzzles that were clear and fun to solve. We quickly got into the flow of the game and immersed ourselves in the story. It’s great to see how much effort the owners put into maintaining the room—it was in excellent condition and beautifully kept.

The tasks were varied, and there were plenty of satisfying moments that kept our motivation and enjoyment high. Our game master was attentive and provided just the right level of guidance.

For us personally, the explanatory videos could have been a bit shorter—once we're in the game flow, we don’t always have the patience for long interruptions. But that's just a matter of preference.

Overall, a wonderful experience that we wouldn’t want to miss!

Something special

After a long wait, the anticipation of this special room was very high. And certainly the expectations with all the great reviews and ratings. The beginning is really spectacular and the setting was designed with a lot of effort and attention to detail. The puzzles were all on topic and easy to solve with 3 players. It was nice that there were always successes and surprises and you could stay excited about what would happen next.
For us, it was a really nice experience that we wouldn't want to miss, even if the big high that we know from other rooms was unfortunately missing in the end. Maybe it was because the flow of the game kept coming to a halt due to the interruptions and the room could certainly also gain through maintenance of the equipment and a more open and friendly service. Unfortunately, we weren't lucky enough to play with the owner himself, about whom we had heard a lot of good things and who must be a very creative and passionate person.

Great experience!

On our way to the room Non-Believers, we decided to add this escape room to our itinerary based on recommendations from other players. And wow, were we pleasantly surprised!

From the warm welcome to the game’s introduction, the flow, the puzzles, and the storyline—everything was just fantastic. It was an all-around great experience! From start to finish, we felt fully immersed, always knew what to do, and barely needed any hints to complete the game within the given time.

On top of that, we had a really friendly game master who guided us through the experience.

A definite recommendation—this was such a fun room, and we’ll be back for more!

Pray

Beyond Expectations

Finally getting the chance to play Pray was a long-awaited experience and undoubtedly one of the highlights—and a spectacular finale—of a year in which we played over 100 rooms across four countries. What can I say? Our expectations were sky-high, and not every room managed to live up to them. But this one didn’t just meet those expectations—it exceeded them.

What Johan and his team have created is an experience that’s hard to top. The immersive nature of this room truly gets under your skin and fully draws you in, making it something truly special. From the very first moment, we were pulled into the story. Thanks to the clever architecture, we not only experienced a perfect flow but also felt that the space, with all its sub-rooms, was huge.

Each sub-room had its own unique vibe and staging, both in terms of puzzles and atmosphere, yet everything came together to create a cohesive and harmonious whole. Johan and his team have an incredible attention to detail when it comes to colors, shapes, scents, and lighting—it feels like nothing here was left to chance. At the same time, the room feels personal and far from sterile or overly automated.

I don’t want to give away any spoilers, but for those who might be a bit hesitant: it’s thrilling but never overwhelming. As someone who’s easily spooked, I never felt scared for a moment. Quite the opposite! The actor added depth and humor to the experience, making it even more memorable.

Meeting the “famous Johan” in person at the end of our visit was the icing on the cake. Despite his success, he is warm, down-to-earth, and incredibly pleasant to talk to. On top of that, he’s full of new visions, ideas, and plans for the future. It was simply wonderful, and we’re crossing our fingers for his continued success. As soon as there’s something new for us to play here, we’ll be back for sure!

Great Prison Break Adventure

This is one of those rooms where absolutely EVERYTHING just clicked. We made the long journey to get there, and it was totally worth it. From the friendly and helpful contact over the phone to the warm welcome on-site—everything was spot on.

Of course, after reading all the rave reviews about how thrilling the room was, we had a few shaky knees as we entered the prison. But it was never too much. The atmosphere was perfectly immersive, exactly what you'd expect from a prison escape, and the initial setup was a fantastic and fitting start, especially for us more experienced players. Without giving too much away, let's just say—it wasn't our first prison-themed room, but it was by far the best! A well-deserved high ranking on the top lists.

Often, when the decor is great, the puzzles can lack originality—or vice versa. But that wasn’t the case here. Everything flowed so smoothly and logically that we always knew what to do next. With just a little help and 12 minutes left on the clock, we escaped—and had an absolute blast doing it. There were three of us.

Sure, maybe you could argue there could’ve been two or three more puzzles, but we never got stuck or lost any time, though other groups might have a different experience. All in all, this room is a clear recommendation, and we were more than happy with the super friendly and professional service. No question about it—we’ll be back!

Till death do us part

The Missing Link
Posted on: 2024 september 16

From Nervous to Thrilled: Our First 'Scary' Escape Room Adventure!

We’ve played over 115 escape rooms and, up until now, nothing really scary has crossed our path. That in itself is quite the achievement! But there’s a first time for everything, and that’s how this room landed on our list. We’d already tackled another room at this location and absolutely loved it. So when we heard the second room was one of the most thrilling experiences Belgium has to offer (and the reviews seemed to back this up), we just had to give it a go!

With a mix of excitement and a few nerves, we made our way to the room. Parking, check. Warm welcome, check. Storing our belongings, check. Everything went smoothly, and after a pleasantly short briefing, we were off.

The beginning was definitely out of the ordinary, and we quickly got pulled into the story, thanks in part to the incredibly well-done set design. That initial nervousness disappeared as the puzzles totally absorbed us. We breezed through one challenge after the next, completely hooked! The atmosphere was a bit dark, but honestly, for us, it wasn’t horror—at least, not what we’d consider real horror. In fact, we felt the mood added so much to the story, making everything flow perfectly and feel wonderfully immersive. Without giving too much away, I can say we had an absolute blast, leaving the room on a total high, with 9 minutes to spare and just one hint used. The little jump scares? Perfectly placed, giving the room that extra special touch.

In the end, fear is such a personal thing, right? It all depends on your threshold. I’d say I’m more on the cautious side and have usually avoided anything that sounds even remotely spooky. But after playing a few rooms that had a reputation for being slightly scary, and finding them totally manageable, I’m now ready to dip my toes a little deeper into the more 'scary' pool. And this room has definitely nudged me in that direction. Seriously, it was amazing. Give it a try!

Fun for young escapers

This is a cute room that can be played by children on their own while the adults watch. Our kids, thanks to their escape experience, finished in just over half an hour but had a lot of fun doing it on their own. The friendly GM's support was also great. If you're planning a birthday and still thinking about what to do, this can definitely be an option.

A Challenging Mix of Tasks Inside Prison Cells: An Unconventional Escape Experience

We need to start by saying that this mission isn't your typical escape room. Instead, it's an entertaining mix of different tasks to solve within prison cells, where the goal is to collect as many points as possible.

We spent 2 hours playing through various rooms and had a fun time. Some tasks required tactical and physical solutions, while others were brainteasers, which allowed all team members to utilize their talents. In the end, we emerged as the day's winners and came in second for the week.

However, there are some points for improvement: Some tasks can only be solved through trial and error, and a guide would be helpful to avoid wasting time figuring out what to do. Additionally, some rooms have broken technology or tools that are so worn out that they detract from the experience. The cleanliness could also be improved.

If you're looking for something where you can have fun – especially with kids – this might be a good option for you. If you want a high-quality, classic escape room experience, you might want to look elsewhere.

Le Village Maudit

Get Back Escape

Time Travel to a cursed village

This is the third room at Get Back, and it’s very popular and highly rated in the French escape community. As with the other rooms, the time machine transports us to our mission in the past.

Having gone through the time travel setup three times now, we feel that the intro, text, and video could be shorter and more tailored to the room’s theme without losing any essential elements. It tends to be a bit tedious waiting to start – the intro in Brussels is much more engaging and never boring, even on repeat visits.

We find ourselves in a pub and begin our search for clues. The initial tasks are familiar from other rooms, so we progress quickly. Once again, Get Back has created a beautiful setting, distinct from the others, with high-quality, detailed decor.

The room is dark, and you really need the lamps provided to navigate. However, it’s puzzling why one out of the three lamps is always broken, leaving two out of four players in the dark, passing lamps around. This minor issue can become a bit of a hindrance in a 90-minute room.

What truly excites us here is the room's size, with new, beautifully decorated areas constantly revealed. The puzzles can be tackled in parallel, allowing us to advance quickly at first.

The room isn’t linear, a format we’ve encountered before but still don’t prefer. We lose unnecessary time working on puzzles without the needed information.

Later on, we find that solving a puzzle in the last room requires going back to the beginning, disrupting the flow and causing confusion.

Compared to the other rooms, the decor here is superb, and the puzzles are diverse. However, the attempt at originality sometimes sacrifices logic. We still don’t understand why certain objects need to be placed in specific spots.

Some puzzles lack clear instructions, leading us down the wrong path.

Additionally, our GM’s few somehow cryptic hints, perhaps due to the language barrier, added more confusion than clarity to the game. English-speaking players might face extra challenges here.

We entered this room with high expectations, but like many experiences, it didn’t fully meet them. We left with mixed feelings, sensing that there was potential for much more.

A Must-Play Experience: An Escape Room Like No Other

Before I even begin writing, I can already say: this room is an absolute MUST PLAY. During our vacation in France, we played many rooms and spoke with lots of people about escape games. Again and again, we heard that this room was a must. So, we decided to give it a try.

From the first contact, the host was incredibly nice and friendly—someone who truly made an effort to connect with us, despite the language barrier. You could tell right away that he was a passionate escape room enthusiast with high standards, fully committed to providing guests with an extraordinary experience.

About the Room: From our perspective, he absolutely nailed it. The room was completely different from anything we've played before, both in theme and execution. And it was of the highest quality. The ambiance was beautiful, fitting, and luxurious—no combination locks in sight. The music and lighting were perfectly choreographed, letting us fully immerse ourselves in the mysterious world.

Some might find the room a bit intense, but for us, it was the perfect amount of suspense—a thrilling experience that never felt overwhelming. As we moved from one room to the next, we encountered a variety of different settings that kept us challenged all the way to the end. And let me tell you, the final scene? It was nothing short of spectacular—a true grand finale in every sense of the word. If you dive into the story, you'll have an experience you won’t forget anytime soon.

Of course, there’s always room for nitpicking—perhaps a couple of puzzles could be slightly shorter or the music transitions a bit snappier, like in other rooms. But maybe the extra minute the host gives players is meant to tie into the theme and enhance the overall story.

After playing here, we now view the escape room world with fresh eyes. We’ve gained a new appreciation for what’s possible and what separates good from truly brilliant. This room deserves its high rank on France’s top list. It’s absolutely worth the trip, no matter how far you have to travel. And to top it off, the host’s warmth, passion, and friendliness made the whole experience simply unbeatable.

Enchanting Escape: Uncovering Professor Dragono’s Secrets at Escape Hostel

The Escape Hostel rooms are located in a beautiful standalone villa in a small village, right next to a café. As we step inside, we are immediately captivated by the atmosphere, setting the perfect tone for our adventure. After a fantastic introduction by our incredibly friendly and passionate GM, Valentin, we quickly find ourselves in the first room of our mission. It must be said that no GM has ever welcomed us as warmly as Valentin, even though the intro was entirely in French and had to be translated by one of our team members. His talent for conveying the story through gestures, expressions, and tone was remarkable.

Back to the story. We find ourselves in the first room, following the footsteps of Professor Dragono, who researched the existence of dragons in ancient times. In a library-like setting, we begin our quest, and the story immediately captivates us. The original puzzles bring the theme to life, and everything works perfectly on a technical level. The lovingly and intricately designed room enhances our enjoyment significantly. What’s even better is that this high standard continues and even intensifies as the game progresses. The further we delve into the professor's secret, the more magnificent the scenario becomes. The additional humorous elements ensure that we fondly reminisce about the room and discuss it frequently afterward. Everything culminates in a grand finale, and because it is so fantastic, I won’t spoil it. But one thing is for sure: PLAY THIS ROOM. It is a phenomenal experience. Special thanks to GM Valentin, who made the experience exceptionally memorable!

Mission Pandora

The Magic Doors

A Galactic Challenge: Our Adventure with Magic Doors' Mission Pandora

The first room we played at Magic Doors is Mission Pandora. Despite our previous call requesting an English version and being told it wasn't possible, the owner warmly and graciously welcomed us.

Mission Pandora is the newest of their three rooms, taking us into the world of the movie Avatar, which we all love.

After a brief intro in a well-kept reception area, we embarked on our journey in a space capsule, where we needed to solve various puzzles to enter Pandora and continue our adventure there.

We received many instructions through the onboard computer, which slightly complicated our mission due to our limited French. However, the room was still fun, and everything ran smoothly with top-notch automation and technical functionality. The ambiance matched the theme well, with mostly high-quality elements enriching the experience.

Lighting, color, and sound were modern and appropriately used.

It’s hard to say if the occasional confusion was due to a lack of logic or the language barrier. What we do know is that our friendly GM was always ready to help us at key points.

Overall, it's a beautiful room with an originally crafted space theme unlike anything we’ve encountered before. If you're fluent in French, you'll likely enjoy the experience even more.

Magical Mysteries: Our Enthralling Harry Potter Experience at The Magic Doors

The second room we played at this venue, and I must say, it truly captivated us and made our escape room hearts race with excitement. We ventured into the world of Harry Potter.

The game begins in a small antechamber, from which we had to work our way into the main rooms. The puzzles required to progress were unusual and delighted us immensely. The world beyond is simply fantastic. Kudos to The Magic Doors for creating an absolutely high-quality and original setting that can easily compete with some of the best rooms we've played in Belgium. We highly appreciate when every piece of decor is meticulously crafted and themed.

The room comprises several sub-rooms, some more outstanding than others. Overall, it's spacious with a variety of tasks that are all theme-appropriate, logical, and incredibly fun, especially because of their modern and innovative presentation.

Our GM was once again perfect in this game, professionally and amiably providing assistance where needed.

If you ever find yourself in Nimes, don’t miss out on this room. It offers not only memorable puzzles but a unique experience that you’ll remember.

Unlocking Magic: Our Impromptu Houdini Adventure at The Magic Doors

The third room we played at this venue was an spontaneous choice, driven by our enthusiasm from the previous room Mystères et Sortilèges. Houdini, the escape artist, invited us to prove our skills.

The game begins with us freeing ourselves from restraints and then solving various tasks, all themed around magic. The atmosphere and setting were once again well-crafted and fitting for the theme. Compared to the previous room, this one is a bit smaller, so we were glad to be there with no more than four players.

An advantage is that the language barrier barely affects this room. All puzzles are self-explanatory, and we progressed smoothly. If you’ve played the Houdini Academy room in Belgium, you’ll recognize some similarities and find your way quickly. In that case, I’d recommend trying one of the other two rooms instead.

Overall, this was a highly enjoyable experience, perfectly rounding off our day at The Magic Doors.

Le Secret de Moriaty

Escape Hostel

A Thrilling Journey with Sherlock Holmes: Discover and Destroy Moriarty's Sinister Energy Source!

Our second mission at Escape Hostel takes us back to 1890, following in the footsteps of the master detective Sherlock Holmes and his arch-nemesis Professor Moriarty. The goal is to locate and destroy the villain's novel energy source.

After our fantastic first mission uncovering the Dragon's secrets, we dive into this new challenge with enthusiasm. It's worth noting that this is a demanding room where typical search and logic puzzles aren't always easy for non-native speakers. We're grateful that our attentive GM steps in whenever we get stuck due to misunderstandings.

Experienced players will find this room thoroughly satisfying.

Thanks to our GM's excellent introduction, we quickly get into the theme and make good progress in the first room, which leads us to the main area. We're very impressed and excited by what the owners of Escape Hostel have created here. The atmosphere is not only beautiful and high-quality but also stylish and original. It's clear that passionate escapers, with plenty of gaming experience, have crafted this for a truly immersive experience.

The game takes us from room to room, with new puzzles and brilliant architecture awaiting us at every turn. Up until the thrilling finale, it's a lot of fun, and the puzzles challenge us in an engaging and stimulating way.

In the final minutes, we complete our mission and leave the room on a high. Of course, as with anything, there are minor details one could nitpick, but that wouldn't do justice to the room or the people behind it.

If you have experience and are looking for a unique escape room experience, play this room. You won't be disappointed.

Get Back Escape

Time Travel Adventure

Get Back offers four rooms in their program, and this is the first one we're playing. As a group of four, we are familiar with Belgian and Dutch rooms, and now we are excited to experience one in France.

Our game master doesn't speak English, and only one of us speaks French, adding an extra challenge, but we're up for it.

The venue is easy to reach, with parking right at the door. The reception is professional, with a beautiful, clean, and modern setup, comfortably air-conditioned.

The story involves a time machine that sends us back to different scenarios to complete our mission. This time, it's an old country house where we need to secure certain items.

The setting is well-designed and immerses us in our task. The room follows a classic search-and-find format where we turn everything upside down to find puzzle pieces to assemble. The puzzles are well-sequenced and logical, mostly intuitive, and we can solve them without needing French language skills.

Overall, it's a solid room, not a must-do for its emotional or excitement levels, but worth doing if you're already there.
