Een niet-lineaire kamer waarin heel veel verschillende verrassende puzzels verstopt zitten. De kamer is duidelijk een eerstegeneratiekamer, maar dat is helemaal niet erg. De gamemaster is zeer vriendelijk en neemt achteraf de tijd om de kamer rustig door te nemen, maar legt in het begin iets te veel uit over wat wel en niet mag in de kamer. Overigens, tijdens het spel kunnen er punten verzameld worden waardoor je een unieke score krijgt aan het einde.

Veel praten

De verwachtingen waren hoog met een 9,5 hier. Echter werden deze verwachtingen niet waar gemaakt. We werden enthousiast ontvangen door de eigenaar echter bleef deze maar praten, zelfs toen hij met ons de kamer mee in ging. Uiteindelijk werden we alleen gelaten en konden we gaan puzzelen. Er is meer dan genoeg om te doen, echter zonder wauw effect of hoogstaande techniek, als je met deze verwachtingen erin gaat, dan is het een prima kamer. Ook na afloop werd er door de eigenaar weer veel gepraat, nu in het Duits zodat we ons konden voorbereiden om de 2e kamer in het Duits. Al met al zijn ze 2 uur begin geweest incl praatje vooraf en na afloop.

Indeed dubious games

During our visit to Aachen, we decided to play this escape room. It's said that the game lasts 100 minutes, and given the amount of information you get at the start, you really need to calculate that much time. Very friendly host, but you get a LOT of info in the beginning. Necessary with the unique concept of play, but for me it resulted in more confusion during our play. It's a parallel room, and I know that with 2 players, you're always at a disadvantage. We escaped barely in time, but missed quite a few games because you have to solve so much and simply forget what you still have to do.
I think the room is better suited for larger groups, but nevertheless we had fun playing games, and enjoyed the talk and the walkthrough afterwards with the host!
We'll definitely try the other room, once it's available in english!

Fun experience, cool puzzles, good story!

We played as a group of four, with some of us being quite new to escape rooms and others having already played a few. We all had a lot of fun and can definitely recommend Aixescape. The host was great, at the end of the game, he showed us the room again and explained all the puzzles, so we could see what the other players had solved.

Work of love - our group of newbies and experts felt right at home

We played the room on a cozy Sunday and had a fantastic experience. To begin with, the host and room maker invited us to a battle of pinball in the lobby. After successfully failing, we were lead into the room. Once locked away, our group immediately got to work. The room had many creative mechanics and puzzles, which allowed us to always change our groups approach. This way, our two newbies were busy on one puzzle, while the two more experienced players could focus on other efforts. Would play again, if we could.

Best escape room I played

The host was very nice and let us experience everything even though we were 20 mins too late. The explanation at the start was by far the best and complete. We were able to experience all puzzles with explanation after the deadline and had a nice talk afterwards. Would recommend it any time.

Goed doordachte puzzels, enthousiaste eigenaar

Een heerlijke puzzelkamer. De hoeveelheid puzzels is enorm, maar dankzij het uitgekiende puntensysteem nergens overweldigend. Ook met 88 eerdere kamers zaten er puzzels bij die ik niet eerder had gezien. De eigenaar is ontzettend enthousiast en gastvrij. Vooraf mochten we spelen op zijn gerestaureerde antieke flipperkast, achteraf legde hij geduldig alle puzzels uit (en mochten we een paar puzzels die we niet gevonden hadden alsnog proberen). De hints zijn ook prettig en goed getimed. Echt een aanrader!

Definitely give it a try

A truly exceptional escape room.
Numerous challenging puzzles and great attention to detail in the room design.
We were particularly impressed by the scoring system and the fact that there were several side quests in addition to the main quest.
We would gladly return, whether as frequent players or newcomers!

Enorm genoten

Bij binnenkomst heb je direct in de gaten dat de eigenaar / bouwer een liefhebber is. Hij praat gepassioneerd over de kamer en neemt uitgebreid de tijd om e.e.a. uit te leggen. Eenmaal binnen, ging ons hart sneller kloppen als echte (bord-)spel fanaten. Let wel: dit hoef je absoluut niet te zijn om van deze kamer te kunnen genieten. We speelden deze kamer met 2 personen, een pittige uitdaging als je het mij vraagt. De laatste tijd hebben vooral lineaire kamers gespeeld en waren een beetje roestig voor dit soort kamers. Je raadt het al, we kwamen in tijdnood en hebben de kamer helaas niet binnen de tijd kunnen verlaten (de 2e in onze langs reeks van escapen). Gelukkig nam de gamemaster ruim de tijd om na afloop nog eens alles uit te leggen en ons ook de puzzels te laten spelen die we dus niet (op tijd) hadden opgelost. Erg leuk! Dat je naast ontsnappen nog een 2e uitdaging hebt, vond ik erg leuk. Ik werd er in ieder geval enorm gedreven door. Misschien iets te, waardoor de stress toenam en niet alles in 1 keer lukte. Het verhaal zit goed in elkaar, de puzzels zijn geheel in stijl en er zitten ook leuke verrassingen in. Zeker een aanrader!

Wish I could play it again!

Honestly such a cool game master with great English skills and you can feel his passion for the job. Additionally to a really great escape room, you can also collect bonus coins. Honestly one of the best escape rooms I’ve done!

Great Escape Room - Even greater Gamemaster

We played the board game themed escape room with two people and had a great time. With a little help we made it out just in time. The riddles are created with an obvious love for (board) games and the gamemaster presents the scenario very well. We especially enjoyed that all riddles were explained after the game time and we even got to try out riddles we didn't find during the playthrough.

A great Escape Room Experience

On last Saturday we (4 persons) visited this Escape room. And we enjoyed it. It was very atmospheric. You can feel that the owner and designer is a Escape Room enthusiast and has put a lot of effort in setting it up.
All was rounded up by the post-game walk through. So we got all riddles explained and didn't miss anything which we failed while we tried to escape.

Tolle Spielchen

Heerlijke indiekamer voor spel- en puzzelliefhebbers boordevol inventieve spelgerelateerde puzzels waarbij ontsnappen niet het enige doel is, maar er met bonusopdrachten nog extra punten verdiend kunnen worden. Daardoor beleef je misschien niet alle puzzels van deze kamers, maar de sympathieke eigenaar neemt achteraf uitgebreid de tijd om de hele kamer te overlopen en je ook de ontbrekende puzzels te laten oplossen. De techniek en mechanismes zijn hoofdzakelijk analoog/mechanisch, maar ons stoorde dat geenszins, het gaat om de vele parallelle puzzels die de hoofdrol spelen (het verhaal is van ondergeschikt belang) en die zijn zeer origineel. De kamer heeft zelf al enkele subtiele hints ingebouwd in de doorloop en daarnaast worden er soms 'gratis' kleine duwtjes in de goede richting gegeven of grotere hints die je punten kosten.

Door de parallelle opzet en de overdaad aan puzzels is dit zo'n kamer waar ook zes ontsnappers zich niet hoeven te vervelen.
Het enige jammere aan de kamer vonden we de tijdsdruk: na een tijd werd het duidelijk dat we onvoldoende tijd hadden om alle puzzels op te lossen en dan speel je toch wat minder ontspannen. We hadden graag wat meer tijd gehad om al die mooie puzzels rustig te kunnen bekijken.

A lot of fun!

We (we were 2) loved it! Tons of riddles to solve, you never are really stuck since if you do not manage to solve one of them, there are plenty of others to pay attention to. I appreciated also a lot the explanations through the entire room (and all riddles) at the end. Although we needed some help (and missed at least 2 important things in the end), we feel quite proud to compare our score with others.

A sweet, interesting but amazingly brilliant room that just made for pure fun and excitement

In the making of this room, you can really see that escape room are the passion of the Gamemaster. He values his puzzle so that he gives a detailed follow ups where he explained every riddle so that everyone who might not experienced it in the first place still got to see everything.
The was a very interesting mechanic where point can be gathered by solving puzzles, and finding secrets so that different puzzlers can compare how great they were.
Also, the Gamemaster let us try to solve all the extra riddles that he didn’t saw/solved in the fist place.
You really saw that he knows his stuff and he also gives you informed recommendations about other escape rooms.
PS: And he let us play with the flipper
PPS: Get this man an Indiana Jones Flipper!

Awesome experience with great game master

It was fantastic., we visited aixscape today with a group of 3 people. The introduction was great and very detailed; we had ne question left.

The room was awesome with a lot of details.

the little bonus point feature is great to get antoher twist into the room (aiming for the highscore) and a great way to make a very complex room also playable and easily beatble for smaller gfroups (caus not everything is neccassery the beat the room)

Thanks for this adventure, we arte lloking forword the the next room!

Great Experience

Great Escape Room with fun Point System which provides an extra challenge. It's not very big but uses the space well and has creative non-standard puzzles which also feel well polished

Super leuke Escaperoom

Deze stond hoog aangeschreven dus daarom besloten die te gaan spelen. Het ontvangst was al zeer gezellig en de Escaperoom was mooi verzorgd met wat verrassende elementen. Het leuke was dat op het einde ruimschoots de tijd werd genomen om de kamer uit te leggen. Ondanks dat we op tijd ontsnapt waren hadden we toch wat dingen over het hoofd gezien. Zeker een aanrader!

Greatest escape room experience

Like having a childhood dream come to life, puzzling, easter egg hunting and the most interactive escape room I’ve experienced. 10/10 would recommend.

Unique theme, puzzle-focused, and beginner-friendly. Best one in Aken/Aachen!

Being located in our home town, this room was among the first dozen rooms we played back in 2017 and we still have fond memories of it. We actually recommend this room whenever we have friends over from elsewhere.
While it is more of a classic escape room without an insane budget from today's perspective, its puzzles and theme made it stand out back then and—assuming our friends are a trustworthy source—still do today.

You can tell that the owner is a true board game enthusiast the moment you step into the room. Perhaps the whole thing started as an excuse to acquire more storage room for a growing board game collection. Probably not, but I choose to believe it nonetheless. Pretty much all puzzles are centered around this very theme and it made us realize back then what difference it can make if a room fully commits to its theme.

Overall, the room is very beginner-friendly but not a pushover, either. It does in fact have some optional elements that may raise your overall score (yes, there is a scoring system, which I have not seen anywhere else again since). So even for experienced players, there is something else to strive for.

Full recommendation, especially if you are new to escape rooms or you are yearning for a more "old-school" experience.

A great room for escape newcomers and as well as veterans

We played this room a few years back and it was one of the reasons we fell in love with the hobby of playing escape rooms.
The attention to detail is just amazing and the realization of the board-game-theme is simply perfect. There is just so much to see in this room! Although we played this room as escape newcomers, we would still very much enjoy it today as veterans and there would still be mechanics, puzzles, and elements that we haven't seen in another room.
