Weekendje Neuwied om te escapen, heerlijk! We spelen dit weekend 2 kamers in Bonn en alle kamers van 66minuten in Neuwied. Dit was de tweede kamer van de Madita trilogie.
De locatie was lekker aan de rand van het centrum, leuk om daar nog even een hapje of drankje te gaan doen! Parkeren vond ik vaag, dus zou ik nog even goed uitzoeken voor je gaat!
De ontvangst... Tja Marieke had al een tijdje app contact met de eigenaar dus een ontvangst zat er wel aan te komen. Wat ik heel leuk vond is dat Oliver (eigenaar) ons uitnodigde om samen te gaan eten en vervolgens ook nog eens zn vrouw en zoontje hierbij betrok. Die persoonlijke touch vind ik heerlijk en heeft toch wel wat, het geeft in ieder geval een gevoel van binding binnen de escape community!
Het verhaal in deze kamer borduurt verder (maar ook niet helemaal) op Madita's Geheimnis, de eerste kamer in deze trilogie. Het verhaal van deze kamer is enorm complex. Waar het verhaal in de eerste kamer heel goed en soepel uit de verf komt, doet het dat hier echt een heel stuk minder vind ik, heel jammer. Het is tof en achteraf duidelijk, maar de storytelling kan in deze kamer echt wel een tikje beter.
De puzzels zijn prima! Voor een "story driven game" is het wellicht minder logisch om parallel te puzzelen, maar dat is hier dus wel het geval. Best flink aanpoten als je dan met zn drieen bent, maar prima te doen! Dit is geen kinderkamer!
De beleving is hier voor mijn gevoel ook niet helemaal top. De flow van het spel zit ons niet mee, sommige dingen zijn logisch en sommige totaal niet. Wellicht is dit door het storytelling karakter van dit spel anders. Enfin, kan ook aan ons liggen.
Zeker wel gaan spelen! Hij is onderdeel van een toffe trilogie die excelleert op verschillende vlakken, maar vooral het verhaal!

Dit is het middelste deel van de trilogie, er komen heel veel verwijzingen uit deze kamer voor in het laatste deel. Knap hoe dit in elkaar gezet is weer!
Voor ons het minste deel van de trilogie, hierover later meer.
Hele goede puzzels, weer erg goed in het thema geïntegreerd. (Daar is 66 minutes overigens heel erg goed in, puzzels in thema.) Of het heel vernieuwend is allemaal weet ik niet, maar het was wel heel erg leuk en het flowde lekker.
Het gebruik van de host/acteur is weer erg goed gedaan hier, tijdens de intro en tijdens het spelen van de kamer.
Het einde was voor ons wat minder; het was een ontzettende chaos. En overkill aan informatie en opdrachten, harde muziek en een host die in het engels door een portofoon sprak. Dat was jammer omdat het laatste stuk echt een belangrijk deel van het verhaal vertelt. Achteraf zijn we bijgepraat en vielen alle puzzelstukjes in elkaar.
Ik had wat opmerkingen over het einde en wat zaken die niet vast zaten waardoor er verwarring kan ontstaan bij de puzzels. Dit gedeeld met de eigenaar en ik heb de indruk dat hier dan ook echt wat mee gedaan wordt. Eigenaar is zelf ook een speler, ontzettend vriendelijk, geïnteresseerd en staat erg open voor opbouwende kritiek, love it.
Hou er wel rekening mee dat er tussendoor niet veel tijd is tussen de kamers, als je wat wil eten tussendoor kan je dat het beste vooraf meenemen. Ik zou persoonlijk een lunch of dinner pauze nemen voordat je het laatste deel, Da's Amulet, speelt.

Oh Juliaaaa!
Wat een goede kennismaking was dit met 66 minutes en het verhaal van de escaperooms. Dit is echt anders dan normaal en ik heb mij dan ook mijn ogen uitgekeken. Met zijn tweetjes was dit misschien wat lastig ook door de taalbarrière maar de service was zo goed dat dit geen enkel probleem was! Ik kan niet wachten tot ik das amulet kan spelen.

Unforgettable
At the weekend, I was finally in Neuwied with my team at 66 Minutes - Escape and Adventure Games with Actors.
The Madita Trilogy was on the agenda.
Oliver Grabus welcomed us personally before we set off on an unforgettable adventure.
66 Minutes offers an immersive experience here that rivals the best providers in Europe. So far, Brandon Darkmoor has been the best German room for me, but The Room Berlin now shares that rank with Das Amulett.
I have played many very good Escape Rooms with my team, but what has been created here with the Madita Trilogy is unique. Hollywoodlike story, effects and great acting create a world that captivates every player.
Madita's Secret is a wonderful introduction to the story about a fictional secret organisation that protects Neuwied from the murderous machinations of a mad butcher. A space designed for children, but with so much love that adults will have the same fun.
The Trophy Collector then shows what the team around Oliver Grabus is capable of. Here you are challenged from the very first minute. Acting and action alternate in our search for the secrets of the mad butcher. Slowly, the story picks up speed and more and more details that you collect on the way to solving the final mystery draw you further into the story. But beware: nothing here is what you think it is at first glance.
The amulet is then the climax of the trilogy - in every respect. In the now familiar way, we got fully into the story from the first second. I can only recommend acting at 66 minutes with the same joy as the hosts do.
The story, which at times takes your breath away, brings together the experiences of the first two parts and then pushes everything to the extreme.
It's not an action room, but it's not a scary room either. Although all the elements are there. It's just a damn well told and above all fantastically directed story. Between the heart racing and the fear sweating, we were also allowed to laugh and take a breath. And you should take a breath before the finale. The story of Madita is brought to a conclusion without mercy.
After The Amulet, you should take a break. This adventure needs to be digested first. Fortunately, at 66 minutes, the team is always available for detailed conversations about their shared passion.
The Money Rush also continues to be a top room. After some adjustments, the flow and the entry has become even better. You don't notice the age of this great room and many newer rooms can still learn something from the implementation.

2nd Part of the Madita Trilogy
The Trophycollector leaves us somewhat undecided. Even the introduction with the acting elements was great fun and the tension was always kept high by unexpected events. Craft-wise, it's a very good room with accessible puzzles and good audiovisual staging. Some puzzles were wittily staged yet very classic, so without the surprise moments the room would have seemed like a classic puzzle room. By the end, we knew why it felt that way, too. We liked Madita's Secret better, though, and that's mostly because of the story and theme. The story about the trophy collector left me with more of a question mark at the end, especially when I tried to place it in the overall context of ASF. The debriefing helped, but I prefer the rooms that are self-explanatory.
