The air in the small, under illuminated office makes it hard for you to breathe. The source of the unpleasant haze seems to be a smoking cigar left on an ashtray on top of the wooden desk.
"This is the person we are looking for," says the old man sitting behind the desk, while showing you a photo of the 2 months missing man “His name is Nathan Jones and he is a professor in the University of Boston." He tosses towards you a yellow folder urging you to open it. "He spent the last year researching a recent archaeological find, from a small and god forsaken small village in the north. Three months ago, the professor decided to visit the village himself, despite his assistant’s opjections as from the little contact with the people living in the village it was apparent that there was something off about it and that it had remain stuck in an older age."
Inside the folder there are many newspaper clippings, photos and a small hand drawn map. On the map a small village is circled in red and underneath it, a name is written in the same red: LOCKHILL. The man stops talking, pins you with his eyes and exhales a cloud of thick cigar smoke.
“It's been two months since the last time the university was able to reach him... Go to Lockhill, and find out what happened. Once you get there, I have arranged for you to meet someone who can help you. In the folder you'll find everything you need."
Lockhill is a Live Escape game. Essentially it is a type of physical adventure game in which you and your friends are locked in a room and have to use elements of the room to solve a series of puzzles, find clues, and escape the room within a set time limit. You win or lose as a team. Escape games are based on "escape the room" video games, such as "Crimson Room" and "QP-Shot",in which the player is locked inside a room and must explore his or her surroundings in order to escape. You must be observant and use your critical thinking skills to escape the room. Other inspirations include adventure board games and movies like "Saw". In every room there is a panic button, that you can press if you feel that you want to exit the room for any reason (this doesn't count as winning!). If you want to, you can re-enter the room when you are ready.
Depending on what you like, you can visit only one of our rooms/locations and experience it's subplot without the need to visit the others, or come again and visit the other rooms/locations to fully experience the story of Lockhill, by discovering a piece of clue in every room/location that you'll keep, and when you piece together all of them you'll discover the full horrific story! You can explore the rooms/locations in whatever order you like, as the order is not important.
