We werden zeer vriendelijk ontvangen. De inrichting van de kamer is sober en licht met tal van technische sloten om te openen. Deze zijn leuk bedacht. De inkleding had wel nog wat meer in het thema gemogen.
Het is mogelijk om per ongeluk iets te vroeg te activeren, waardoor volgens ons een bug moet zijn ontstaan. Na herhaaldelijk een code proberen in te geven, hebben we hulp moeten inroepen omdat ze niet werkte.
De Loft heeft misschien niet altijd de spannendste en best doordachte puzzels, maar al bij al is het wel een fijne kamer om te spelen.

Meh...worst room played so far
We were having a weekend in Brussels and decided to give it a go at some rooms there, suitable for two players. Based on availability and costs, we ended up reserving two rooms in Quarantine. I had asked the opinion of someone, who had played the room before and I expected to be acceptable at least.
The first impression was already not very good, they had two groups at the same time for the two rooms of the venue and only one gamemaster, there was barely place for accomodating two groups at the same time (and we were only two people in our group!!!). Obviously, after the first group entered, we got the explanations, that means also that durinng that time the gamemaster was not monitoring at all the other group. In general I believe that there should be one gamemaster per room or at least to have a staggered begin.
Furthermore, the reception is also the control room, without any kind of separation, already a folding screen would make a difference. The distribution of the rooms is not very practical and does neither help to ´get you into the mood, nor to finish the game.
The first disappointment was entering the room. Minimalistic decoration, with some distracting elements. Minimalistic is an euphemism for cheap. A couple of IKEA furniture and a few elements, that do not make much sense, in an attempt to put something related to the underlying topic. I hoped that something better would come later, but no, in any case what comes later is even worse, but I will not "spoil" it here.
While the story is clear and some aspects are found in the room, the objectives do not match at all the flow in the room. The story is rather superficial and there is practically no progression connected to the story. I believe this was the first room, where I never got into the mood in the whole time there. I was rather hoping to finish it soon and get out of there.
The lack of flow refelects in the puzzles, some do not make sense at all, at least one had some issue, maybe product of the wear, or just poorly done. I never fet the thrill of accomplishment or the "aha" sensation of puzzle solving. Some ideas are repeated and are rather confusing, instead of contributing to a coherent whole.
To top it all, after a while of playing, the message of room accomplished appeared on the screen and the clock stopped, which left us wondering what had happened. Later on, there was again a technical difficulty with the clock.
To be honest, the only positive things I can say about the rooms, was the friendly personnel, the disposition to get feedback (and hopefully implement some of it) and the kindness of letting us change the game we had for the nex day, in order not to play the beginners room in the other venue around the corner.
The truth is that is not worth investing the money in playing this room, when obviously the investment made in it is really poor. Little budget and space limitations can be compensated with creative or interetsing puzzles, which is clearly not the case here. Several adjustments should be made in the flow and puzzles, in order to have at least an acceptable room.

Amateuristisch
We hadden hier eigenlijk een andere kamer geboekt, maar door een technisch defect in die kamer stelden ze ons voor om Loft te spelen...
Na een vriendelijk onthaal en het beklimmen van een enorm steile trap, kwamen we in de loft terecht.
De kamer lijkt eerder op een studentenkamer dan een loft. Een hoopje goedkope Ikea meubels in een hok dus... Qua setting bracht het ons niet meteen in de sfeer, noch in het verhaal. Het verhaal was sowieso al vrij mager, maar door het minimalistische decor kwam het helemaal niet tot zijn recht.
De puzzels waren vrij basic. Sommigen zelfs relatief ver gezocht maar mits een tip wel haalbaar. Voor ervaren spelers eigenlijk niet echt een uitdaging. Het voelde allemaal wat amateuristisch aan.
We zijn ontsnapt maar waren uiteindelijk niet erg enthousiast, ook al deed de jongedame die ons onthaal deed haar uiterste best om met ons de kamer vrolijk na te bespreken. Het gaf ons alleszins niet genoeg motivatie om nog eens terug te keren en de kamer die we eigenlijk geboekt hadden te komen spelen.
Jammer.
