De actie van deze kamer begint met de terugkeer van Harry Potter in zijn tweede jaar op Zweinstein, hoewel hij de waarschuwingen negeert dat hij hier niet mag terugkeren. Een reeks berichten op de muren van de gangen van de school kondigen aan dat de "Geheime Kamer" is geopend, waardoor het monster wordt losgelaten dat een reeks mysterieuze aanvallen zal veroorzaken.
