SYNOPSIS: Step into your own black and white, film noir adventure! You are a private investigator in 1950's New York. One day you receive a letter from Betty McGee - a singer at the notorious Marlowe Hotel. She informs you that the gangster kingpin and hotel owner, Eddie Marlowe, is trying to blackmail her with incriminating material. She needs you to break in and retrieve the documents. You know Eddie is bad news, but you agree to take the case.

What secrets await you inside the hotel? How will you locate the photos? What do you really know about Eddie Marlowe?

GAME INFO: Suitable for 2-8 people. Difficulty: 5/5. We strongly recommend wearing black/white/grey clothes for the game, to make it even more immersive! No scary content, so perfect for families too.

Zwart-witdenken

Logistiek: beide Cipher Rooms (ze hebben twee dicht bij elkaar liggende locaties) liggen in het zuiden van Sydney (niet zo ver van de luchthaven), zowel per auto als per openbaar vervoer goed te bereiken.

Ontvangst: daar waar de locatie Saint Peters van Cipher Rooms aanvoelde als klinisch lopendebandwerk, voelde het hier wat persoonlijker aan, hoewel we ook hier de indruk kregen dat spelleiders zich met verschillende groepen bezig moeten houden en de omlooptijd vrij hoog is, maar hier was er tenminste wel tijd voor een meer persoonlijke ontvangst en nagesprek.

De kamer zelf is in opzet en uitvoering wat minder verrassend dan La Rébellion, die we bij hun andere vestiging speelden. In opdracht van zangeres Betty McGee breek je in in het Marlowe Hotel om bezwarend materiaal tegen haar te stelen, een aanleiding dus om een hotel- en baromgeving uit de jaren 1950 te gaan verkennen. Leuke toets is dat vrijwel het hele decor zwart-wit is (omdat we zo'n omgeving vooral kennen van zwart-witbeelden).
