You are reading this poster on the street. You are not alone. You look at the people around you and they all have the same blank stare. You don't even remember what you read. You know for sure that you too were looking for Elric for your own purposes. You wanted something from him but you don't know what. You close your eyes and after a while you open them again. You are no longer in the square of Astrabi. You are in a wet and dark place between steep rocks. Then you see him and your breath is taken away, you had heard about the guardian of the stone, but it is one thing to hear about it and another to see this imposing presence in front of you. Wait... Why did the guardian stone appear in front of you? It is said that he seals the way of the dead... The Dead pass... Well, how did you get there?

#156 Dead Pass
Het is zomer, het is warm (eigenlijk veels te warm), maar het is tijd om naar Griekenland te gaan. Tijd voor een Athene trip 2.0. De locaties ga ik kort over zijn. Geen commentaar. Maar dit hoeft zeker niks te zeggen over het spel zelf en doet dat heel vaak ook zeker niet! De laatste dag speelden we The Maker's Curse
De ontvangst zal ik voor beide kamers samen doen. Een hele aardige, bedreven eigenaar met passie voor zn kamers. Echter die uitleg.... Het voelde ongelogen alsof ik een DnD handleiding van 420 pagina's aan het afluisteren was. Ik zal hier bij de puzzels iets verder over uitwijden want dan blijkt waarom dit zo is, maar iets met Occam's Razor had deze kamer geholpen denk ik. Levens, tokens en andere mechanisme passeerden de revue, volledig onnodig wat mij betreft.
Het verhaal vond ik best wel prima in deze kamer en best wel duidelijk! Het had weinig diepgang, maar was duidelijk.
De puzzels, tja.... Als je The Maker's Curse speelt laten ze puzzels weg uit de losse kamers, waarom, geen idee. Geef me een half uur per kamer langer en laat ze lekker erin zitten. Ook zaten er optionele puzzels in, zodat je meer "lore" kon bemachtigen. Voor mij wordt het door dit soort gekke fratsen vaak snel veel te onoverzichtelijk en ga ik me storen dat ik niet alle puzzels kan oplossen, simpelweg omdat het niet hoeft. Ja je kunt vantevoren zeggen dat het niet hoeft, maar nee, doe maar gewoon niet.
De beleving was oke. Het voelde als een kamer die een horrorkamer wilde zijn gezien de acteur, maar totaal niet eng was. Das niet erg, maar wel iets om rekening mee te houden. Er zit in Dead Pass specifiek wel 1 element waar je denk ik echt letterlijk je nek kunt breken als je niet oppast. Ik voelde me niet onveilig, maar het is zeker niet "rolstoeltoegankelijk", pas echt goed op.
Tja, ik zou deze overslaan, tenzij je tijd over hebt. Als eerste escaper op escapetalk zou ik deze zeker niet aanraden.
