Wij verbleven bij een kennis in de buurt en besloten met z’n 3e last minute een escape room te boeken in de buurt. Enerzijds omdat dat mijn hobby is, anderzijds omdat wij benieuwd waren naar hoe de Amerikanen dat doen. Wij zijn namelijk erg fan van de Amerikaanse leisure- en innovatieve markt en de benadering daarvan. Anyway, 2 uurtjes van te voren boeken kan daar gewoon en dus deden we dat.
Een kamer voor 4-8 personen kwamen wij met z’n 3e spelen. Voordeel: je krijgt veel mee, nadeel: het was echt een 100% puzzelkamer. De kamer is ontzettend parallel en kent een hele andere insteek dan gewend. Verwacht dus geen linear spektakel dat je door diverse ruimtes brengt.
De techniek en het decor is mooi, goed onderhouden en up-to-date. De flow was voor ons matig. Enerzijds omdat het voor 3 spelers te pittig was en anderzijds omdat het veel elementen zijn die je toevallig moet zien. Zie je die niet, dan ben je de Sjaak. Wanneer je bij het einde komt en een uur lang je hersenen hebt lopen kraken, komen er nog 2 pittige beukers bovenop, waar je dan eigenlijk geen zin meer in hebt. Zo verlieten wij dan ook deze kamer.
Prijs/kwaliteit was het voor Amerikaanse begrippen erg goed te doen. Wil je dus lekker puzzelen dan kan je deze zeker gaan spelen. Ik vond het heel tof om te zien hoe het hier werkte met de Amerikaanse hospitality. Dat was echt wel lachen. Het is echt die classic uitleg van te voren, overdone, waiver tekenen etc.
