"By day she tormented people, by night she counted the devil's money," is what people in old Aachen say about Katharina von Thenen, known as the Maubach woman, and whisper behind closed doors that strange things were happening in the noblewoman's house. Especially malevolent cats were said to be up to no good there.
Countess Mobesin certainly never imagined that her house would one day serve as a museum for Aachen's history and stories... but who knows if her spirit still wanders there...
In an almost forgotten room of the museum, you can take a "journey through time" to 17th-century Aachen (and other eras). Who knows, you might even find the countess's "devilish treasure" – but make sure you leave the house in time, otherwise this little adventure could end badly.

In diesem Escape Room wurde eine Aachener Legende mit sehr thematisch passenden und abwechslungsreichen Rätseln erzählt. Neben dem Rätseln erfährt man so auch etwas über diese Legende aus Aachen. Der Raum ist für gebürtige Aachener*innen, aber such für Tourist*innen zu empfehlen.

Exciting, challenging and interesting!
This was the second escape room I’d played. For the others in my group, it was their first time...
It was incredibly exciting and quite tricky too! Unfortunately, we didn’t manage to escape, but we were allowed to solve all the puzzles after the 60 minutes were up. At the end, we were given detailed feedback on what we could do better next time. I’d recommend this escape room to anyone with a bit of experience.

Leuk vermaak
Aangezien we toch op deze locatie waren, dachten we laten we beide kamers meepakken. Deze kamer is alleen in het Duits te spelen, vooraf afgestemd of het met basis Duits te doen is en dat was het. Eenmaal op locatie werd het toch wel even anders benoemd en kregen we de vraag of we toch wel wilde spelen.. euhm, ja.. we zijn per slot van rekening niet voor niks hier naartoe gereden.. Uiteindelijk was de kamer wel te doen, de geluidsopname in het Duits was af en toe wel lastig te verstaan, we zijn er nog niet uit of dit nu ligt aan de kwaliteit van de geluidsopname of aan de taal. Al met al was het een leuke kamer en hebben we ons prima vermaakt. Echter verwacht hier geen hoogstaande kamers, gewoon leuk puzzel plezier.
