Tough but enjoyable game
Cabin in the Woods 2.0 by Escape World Utrecht was played with a team of 6, our 4th time playing together.
Being with six players really helped us here. The room is challenging, and having a larger, with some experienced players in the team allowed us to progress smoothly without using any clues.
The look and feel is a clear highlight. The atmosphere is dark, tense, and properly spooky, supported by strong lighting, sound effects, and attention to detail that bring the theme to life.
The puzzles are on the harder side, and that’s something to be aware of. Less experienced players will likely struggle at times. That said, they are well designed, and one in particular stood out as very original, adding a memorable moment to the experience.
We finished with just over 3 minutes past the time, and came out feeling very satisfied and having had a lot of fun as a team.
Recommended mainly for experienced players, unless you don’t mind a tougher challenge and a lot of frustration along the way.

Just WoW!
Wow. We were a team of 4 with over 30 rooms played together, and this one completely took us by surprise, in the best possible way. It was highly recommended to us by Michael (owner of House of Twisted Minds), and what a phenomenal recommendation it turned out to be.
We had the honor of being the first team to play the game in English, and it was flawlessly executed. The translation never broke the immersion, and the entire experience felt natural, seamless, and polished.
From the very start, The Crimson Recipe wraps you into its world. It’s a masterful blend of environment, story, and puzzles, each supporting the other beautifully. The sound effects and lighting build tension and atmosphere at just the right moments, and the narrative is deeply present throughout, never taking a backseat.
The owner and GM, Remco & Marcus, are the heart of the experience. Not only were they incredibly warm and welcoming, but they also took the time to chat in-depth about the design, their passion, and the escape rooms they’ve played (you can clearly tell they’re enthusiasts themselves). That love for the craft shines through in the many clever references and hidden easter eggs scattered throughout the experience.
We left still processing just how good it was, this one sticks with you.
Absolutely recommended for all players, regardless of experience. This is a room that deserves a place in TERPECA, and I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see it rank in 2026. A true standout.

Outstanding Cinematic, Story Driven Escape Room Experience.
House of Twisted Minds was our 90-minute descent into one of the most cinematic, story driven escape room experiences we’ve encountered, and we savored every minute of it.
What stands out most is the unforgettable performance by the actor (Pascal), which elevated the entire experience from start to finish. I can’t stress enough how outstanding the acting was. There was a moment where I genuinely questioned whether I was watching a film or participating in an escape room, the uncanny valley of immersion was so strong, it blurred reality. This was only amplified by brilliant sound and lighting design that carried the psychological thriller atmosphere to perfection.
The puzzle flow served the experience well, never too dominant, but always keeping the momentum going. It’s clear the puzzles were designed to support the narrative, not distract from it. And in that balance, the game absolutely excels.
The storyline itself is a triumph, rarely do escape rooms manage to tell a narrative that sticks and evolves throughout. Here, it’s the beating heart of the experience, immersive and crystal clear, pulling you in deeper scene by scene. There was a key moment where I completely forgot I was in a game, I was just there, living it.
We escaped with only 2 minutes to spare, a sign that we were truly absorbing everything at full intensity.
Afterward, we had the pleasure of speaking with both Michael (the owner & designer) and Pascal. We shared our feedback and got a glimpse into the intricate choreography behind the scenes, which only deepened our appreciation. Michael, having played over 1100 escape rooms, clearly pours passion and expertise into his creation.
The photo moment was a nice touch, and being able to re-watch the experience made everything feel even more special.
This is TERPECA level work. We’re already counting the days until Michael’s next game is ready.
Highly recommended. Not just a room, an experience.

Incredibly immersive experience
Really nice welcome by the owner/game designer. As soon as you enter you feel as you are in the game, maximum immersion.
One of my top 5 after having done 60+ escape rooms.
